The Possible Society of
California (PSC) is a 50l(c)(3) organization,
established in 1986 to develop classes, seminars, videos, and books that
expand human potential.
Our focus is on wellness, wellbeing and preventive health, health
promotion, and lifestyle change based on Expressive Arts and the
teaching and practice of traditional mind-body exercise systems, such as
Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong.
Since 1994, the Possible Society has sponsored Qigong classes in
Assisted Living Facilities, Senior Centers, and Easter Seals
Rehabilitation Program, as well as at Creation Spirituality University.
In these settings, adaptations of the movements have been developed for
the benefit of our students with mobility impairments, including MS,
Parkinsons, Fibromyalgia and other pain syndromes.
In 2003 Possible Society received a grant to develop an exercise program
for women and men challenged by breast cancer modeled after a successful
Chinese anti-cancer system. This led us to create the exciting
innovation now known as Aqua Ch’i: Spirit Walking. Borrowing from a host
of cultural traditions, these practices now appeal to students ages 8-80
and persons at all levels of wellbeing. Combining movement and
meditation, Aqua Ch’i provides a mindful water wellness workout at
YMCAs, spas, community and fitness centers. To meet the demand for
classes at these venues, we have trained 25 teachers in the water
Qigong, Aqua Ch'i: Spiritwalking Program. PSC also offers
help students improve their form and practice independently.
